Summer Salads



With summer in full swing I have been trying more healthier options since I am determined to get in
shape here are a couple salads that have been on my menu.



Broccoli Salad:
 5 cups of broccoli  florets (small pieces) / 1/3 chopped red onion /  1 cup of mayonnaise /
1 tbp cider vinegar / 1/4 cup sugar / 3/4 cup raisins / 1/2 c chopped pecans

In a large bowl, add broccoli, onion, raisins, and pecans mix together well

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar. Once dressing is mixed add broccoli mixture and coat. Refrigerate until serving.





Grape Salad:
1 package of cream cheese softened (8oz) / 8 oz sour cream / 1/3 sugar
2 tb vanilla extract /  2 pd. seedless red grapes/ 2pd. seedless green grapes
3 tb brown sugar / 3 tb pecans

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla until blended. Add grapes and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Sprinkle with brown sugar and pecans just before serving.

Workout Day 1

Today is day 1 of my commitment to health and exercise. I am finally ready to whip this body back into shape. I have bought the clothes, plus I have created to a schedule so I can devote more time to myself. Since I am a homemaker, I do find it hard to get to the gym so I am starting off slow with the Black Girls Workout DVD. For the next 21 days I will give weekly updates on my progress. Hopefully, this new lifestyle change will increase my energy!

Living room Inspiration

When I saw this living room on One King Lane I fell in love. Finally, a room I could relate to, and fit into my lifestyle. I am currently in the process of transforming my house into a home. I am in the painting stages now and plan to use this living room as my muse. I will be using different textures and patterns but same concept. I just got a new couch so I'll be putting to together a mood board based on this awesome design.
